Amazon S3 Standard - General Purpose: Ideal for frequently accessed data with high availability and low latency. Suitable for big data analytics, mobile apps, and content distribution.
Amazon S3 - Infrequent Access: Designed for less frequently accessed data that requires rapid access when needed. Used for disaster recovery and backups.
Amazon S3 One Zone - Infrequent Access: Offers high durability but is limited to a single Availability Zone (AZ). Used for storing secondary copies of data.
Glacier Instant Retrieval: Low-cost storage for archiving and backup, with milliseconds retrieval. Suitable for data accessed once a quarter.
Glacier Flexible Retrieval: Provides flexibility in retrieval times (Expedited, Standard, Bulk) at a lower cost. Minimum storage duration is 90 days.
Glacier Deep Archive: Meant for long-term storage with Standard and Bulk retrieval options. Minimum storage duration is 180 days.
Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering: Allows automatic object movement between access tiers based on usage patterns. No retrieval charges.

 

Additionally, we discussed the concepts of durability (11 9's) and availability (varies by storage class) in Amazon S3. Durability represents the likelihood of losing an object, while availability refers to the readiness of the service.
